This post is all about dinner party activities that will leave your guests wanting more.
Best Dinner Party Activities
Paint Your Partner Party

Set up a table like the picture above where partners sit across from each other. Next, put an hour on the timer and see what happens when they try to paint each other!
It doesn’t have to be couples, you can do this with anyone! Draw names out of a hat for an added twist.
This is a great dinner party activity for people who won’t take things too seriously if they’re not super artistic.
What you’ll need:
- Tabletop Easels
- Paint Brushes
- Canvas
- Paint Palettes
- Disposable Cups
Murder Mystery Party

Murder Mysteries are a really fun dinner party activity if you have a group of people who are really willing to get into character!
They are so versatile with themes for all interests like 1920’s, Titanic, space, and more! Plan the decor, music and food around the theme to really immerse yourself into the story.
Another benefit of hosting a Murder Mystery is that the kits nowadays come with everything you need like character backstories, invitations, food and drink ideas, and all the clues.
Top Murder Mystery Kits:
- A Taste for Wine and Murder
- Murder Mystery on the Dance Floor
- Murder Mystery at the Circus
- Murder Mystery on the High Seas
Wine Tasting

This is a really fun and inexpensive dinner party activity that is perfect for people who like to get a little tipsy!
Have everyone bring a bottle of wine with them – it could be their fave, one they’ve always to try, or even one that just looks weird. You could also assign people reds, whites, and pinks so you have a variety.
Give everyone a score sheet and take turns explaining the wine you brought. Everyone will score each wine and write notes about what they thought it tasted like. As people get tipsier the descriptions get funnier!
At the end read your wine notes out loud and pick the winning wine!
What You’ll Need:
- Variety of Wines
- Disposable Cups
- Wine Scoring Sheets
NSFW Game Night

One of my family’s personal favorite dinner party activities is a NSFW game night! Most games now come with a NSFW version and I’m pretty sure we’ve tried 80% of them.
One thing to note here is you have to have a group of people who aren’t easily offended.
If you’re looking for an activity that will keep you laughing for hours and you can switch up with multiple games, this is definitely the one for you!
Top Games:
- Cards Against Humanity
- Telestrations After Dark (my personal fave!)
- Incohearant
- Pick Your Poison After Dark
Trivia Night

Trivia is a simple dinner party activity because everyone already knows how to do it. Just make sure you have a group who won’t get upset if they lose, because these can get quite competitive.
While you can write your own trivia questions about any theme you’d like, I find it much more fun to play an already made version where I don’t already know all the answers.
My top choice is Outsmarted. You play it on your phone so the questions are always up-to-date and you can buy more categories so you never run out of options!
If you want to make it even more competitive, have a prize for the winning person or group.
